Story mode
Story mode is a game mode in BFDI: Branches which contains series levels split into worlds. The demo contains one world with four levels and a tutorial. Playable characters can be chosen by clicking their icon at the bottom or pressing the corresponding Number key 1–4. Each level displays its difficulty in the play button, and saves the player's Win Token high score and best time. The Opening cutscene plays upon entering the mode for the first time, and can be replayed by clicking the play button icon in the bottom left corner. Beating the demo's Story mode is required to unlock Online Levels, Leaderboard, and account creation.
Speedrun mode for the Story mode can be selected in the Title Screen by holding Sprint + Confirm over Story mode. This mode plays every level in order while skipping the title cards and level select menu in between levels, and shows the player their total in-game time after completing the game.
BFDI: Branches Demo levels
The demo's levels will be used for World 1 in the full game.
