BFDIA 5b is a side-scrolling platformer created by Cary and Michael Huang created in Flash and released on February 11th, 2013. The game serves as the second part of BFDIA 5, the fifth episode of the second season of Battle For Dream Island, and is the only episode in the series to be a game.

BFDI: Branches is heavily inspired by BFDIA 5b, and takes many of its elements from it, such as Win Tokens as hidden items. Two of the background themes are taken from BFDIA 5b as well.

• Meester Tweester, a director and writer for BFDI: Branches, held the former world record for the BFDIA 5b Any% speedrun from 2018 to 2020. They also own the 5b Central Discord server.
