Win Token (WT) is one of the elements that occupy the space of the level grid, from Items tab. Win Tokens are optional items present in BFDI: Branches levels, which often present an extra challenge in order to collect them. Upon collecting a Win Token, one of three voice lines for each character will play. Win Tokens are not required for completion of a level and any number can be skipped. The number of collected Win Tokens in a level are displayed in a counter beside the HP Meter. Unlike other games, the Win Tokens in the counter does not correspond to their order in the level, in order to be compatible with user-made levels. Aside from the Tutorial, all Story mode levels have three Win Tokens available. In Create mode and Online Levels, any amount of Win Tokens can be placed, though placing more than 10 in a level will make the Win Token counter in the HUD disappear. The number of Win Tokens collected out of the Win Tokens in the level are displayed in the level clear screen, and the high score of most Win Tokens collected is saved in Story mode.

Collecting a Win Token will switch the state of a Win On/Off Block. Collecting a Win Token is also one of the options for routine conditions. Win Tokens have no function in the demo's Story mode, though collecting all Story mode Win Tokens will make a "You are a super player!" voice line play in the "Thanks For Playing The Demo!" end card after clearing The Big Red Button, spoken by the selected character for the level. Win Tokens can move on Tracks, just like Platforms do.

Origin

Win Tokens as in-game items was inspired by BFDIA 5b, a previous platformer game in the Battle For Dream Island series. Unlike BFDI: Branches, there was one in each level as opposed to three in Story mode, and they were invisible until gradually gaining visibility in close proximity. Win Tokens first appeared in the Battle For Dream Island episode "Barriers and Pitfalls," where they were awarded to the most valuable player on the winning team of each challenge, and could be presented before a Cake at Stake ceremony to reduce the user's voice count by half.

Trivia

  • Pin's voice line "Another one!" when collecting a Win Token is a reference to her being tied for the most Win Tokens in Battle For Dream Island at two, as well as collecting a total of four tokens across the series.
